 Move complete!
Welcome to TheStoryCenter.com.  It looks like the only casualty of the move was some of the formatting. Apparently some of the dashes, copyright, and apostrophe symbols didn't copy over right from DB to DB. No big loss. Please contact me is you are missing any files or find any other problems, like not being able to log in.

The only other thing I have caught were some bugs with the text editor functions. Some of them are a bit flaky, but I am working on it.

Thank you,

 Greetings from planet Earth!
It's been a very long time since I've posted anything, so I decided to post something. But what should I post about? I know! How about the best album to come out since ... since ... I don't know, more years than I care to delve back. Muse, a British progressive/alternative rock band, has released an album called "Black Holes and Revelations." And dare I say, the entire albume is incredible. Songs range from slow dance like songs to crazy scifi adventures. "Knights of Cydonia" has to be the craziest song that works I've ever heard. It's been stuck in my head for a week.

By far the best album of this year. Go check it out if you like alt rock.

On a different front, I am officially open for business. I'm not fully functional yet, but functional enough to get going. I am also accepting requests for private critique group forums. What that means is simple. If your critique group wants their own little slice of the web for free, let me know. Sign your members up for Jammrock's Story Center (J.SC) and send me an email with your group name and member list. I will create a private space on the forums that only group members (and myself, though all rights and privacy is respected) can access. This keeps your written works out of the public domain, but still allows safe, private collaboration over the internet.

That's all for today.

 I'm not dead yet!
Made a few changes lately. For the 2 people that read this site, here's what has happened. I ditched the idea of having Jammrock.com separate from TheStoryCenter.com. I simply don't have the time to administer 1 site fully, let alone two. TheStoryCenter.com is now directed to the same place that Jammrock.com is, as they are now the same site, and conveniently nicknamed J.SC (Jammrock's Story Center).

I have updated and modified all the guidelines and regulations for the site. If you move Mr. mouse cursor over the Information and Getting Started links towards the top of the page, a drop down menu will appear:

Mission Statement: Provides the goals and ideals behind J.SC.

Word Count: Guidelines for story and prose/poetry word length.

File Formats: Guidelines for what files the server will accept as uploads, and what the approved formats are for links and all stories.

Story Guidelines: This covers all the nitty-gritty details regarding the rules and regulations for the site and for the stories. This is required reading for anyone who wishes to submit a story or provide feedback.

Beyond that ... the site is still under construction, so things will be changing a lot in the next year. My goal is to have the site and my first novel done by the end of 2006. Here's to the old college try!

Please feel free to browse around and submit a story or two, if you like.

Thank you,

Jammrock

 J.StoryCenter Beta 1 Released!
Woo Hoo!

The beta version of Jammrock's Story Center (J.SC or J.StoryCenter) has finally been added to the site! There is still some touch-up and modifying left to do, but this gives the site the basic story ePublishing format I need.

You can access the features of J.SC by using the tree menu on the left or top (depending on what skin you use), under the Home link.

Please read the following three messages before you start posting:

Guidelines
Mission Statement
Story length descriptions by word count

Please report any bugs to me: jammrock.at.jammrock.dot.com

Thank you,

Jammrock

 Almost there...
The mighty PHP programmer, Ymmy, has been steadily hacking away at the Jammrock.StoryCenter module, and I am pleased to announce that TheStoryCenter plugin will be done soon (tm). Expect to see the beta version of it on this very site this month!

 Jammrock.com Story Center
My crack team of PHP programmers, namely my brother and I, have been working hard on getting the Jammrock.com Story Center (J.SC) programmed and operational. So far I have a detailed outline of what the J.SC will do, how it will work, what the interface will look like, and the specifications for the databases built. Now all that is needed is the PHP code to build the e107.org plug-in and some stories.

I am really excited about the J.SC I think it is a great idea, and with any luck, it will catch on.

 Not dead yet
I wonder if anyone but me ever visits the frontpage.

Anyway...

I've got some people to help me program some modules for the site. I'm going to build a module where any registered member can upload stories for people to read. Writers will be able to upload updates to said stories as well, and when people pull up the sotry there will be an insertion date and revision date to the story.

On top of that there there will be a tree style menu on the side that will automatically sort stories by genre. And so forth.

No clue when it will be done, but some day it will be. Oh yes...it will be.
